Knitting Olympics: Progress

Operation: Opera Gloves is well under way:

It’s not perfect, as I still keep getting these ghastly holes whenever I do an increase (as you can quite plainly see in the photo). But it’s good enough for me, and it’s a really nice fit. Hopefully the second glove will turn out less hole-y – or should I be trying to knit it to match its sister?

  1. I think the gloves look great! What kind of increase are you using, and how are you doing it? I don’t really see the holes in the picture, but I can see where they might be.

  2. Thank you! I’m doing the one where you make a stitch through the bar between the two existing stitches, I don’t know what that is called. I tried twisting the new stitch, and also tried twisting the stitches adjacent to it, but either way I still get a little bit of a hole. I might try the increase that’s specified in the pattern, but I’d need to see a video of it or have someone show me, because I can’t process pictures/written instructions for knitting.

  3. very nice K! I used to love to knit, but I stopped a while ago – I guess I got too busy. Now I study while I watch TV instead of knitting. these look great – good job!
