At the dinner described in the previous post, the Croation capelet made its debut:
My attempt at a foxy, nonchalant mug, resulted in me just looking really distracted and peevish. Alas, not everyone can look like the super-fantastic Parisienne models.
As with Tubey, it’s been so hot these past few weeks that even touching yarn leaves wool-charred welts on my skin. We seem to be experiencing a brief respite from above 100+ degree temperatures (who would have thought that the mid-90′s would seem cool now?), so the capelet has emerged from the chaos of my unorganized, fully stocked closet.
Bizarrely cropped to counter the unfortunate hunchback visual effect going on that I discovered only after uploading the photos onto my computer. I do have normal spine structure, honest!
I love this quick and elegant pattern, and I love crnaofca’s take on it even more. I shortened it to make it resemble the original capelet a little more, since I do like the shruggy length. I used 2 balls of Knitpicks Sierra in cranberry. The only thing I’d do differently is to somehow get size 11 circs; squishing all the stitches onto straights got kind of irritating after awhile.
Now, if only fall would get here sooner so I can justify wearing this outside the apartment!

You look pretty foxy to me! The capelet looks great.
sweet capelet! You’ll be all the rage!
Thanks all :) When I’m finished with all the other thousand projects I’ve lined up for this summer, I think I’ll make another one!
