Cast of Characters
Herein is a short list of people I allude to every now and then in my posts. Note that all names, guilty or innocent, have been changed:
Quark/Quarkie: My cat. He is the brother of Frosty, Chiaroscuro’s cat. Quark looks just like him, except fatter, grayer, and with fewer IQ points. The bastard may be viewed here. He is also featured on MyCatHatesYou.com.
Bertha: My car, a trusty Toyota Corolla. Has weathered 1) a rear-ending by a mouth-breather while stopped at a stoplight in Topeka, 2) a mysterious attack by basketball goal, and 3) the orange sticker of shame.
Chiaroscuro: My sister. She lives in Baltimore, with her husband, Visual Field.
My mom: is crazy.
My dad: also crazy. Guess that bodes genetic mental well-being for me when I grow old.
Elijah: Current boyfriend and partner in crime. Hates tomatoes, olives, marzipan, beef, and almost every other food under the sun that doesn’t involve burned cheese.
Joseph: Another partner in crime, my current roommate. Loves ABBA, Crystal lite and Jell-o (only one of these likes I share!). Elijah, Joseph and I went to Europe together in early fall.
Krissy: Animal collector, fellow boozin’ and knittin’ bitch-in-arms.
Simon: My old roommate and best friend from high school. Tends to be on the anti-social hermit side. Would love to live the rest of his life under a bridge, reading Shakespeare folios and controlling the stray goat population. Fellow boozer-in-arms.
Jodie: My ex-boss from hell. I quit the place, and then went back to work after she (finally) left/got booted out. Every now and then, we find her personal effects or evidence of her psychosis left behind in the office, so she comes up every once in awhile. Someday I’ll compile a big mega post containing all the crazy stories I have about her. It would take a full day to compose.
